Technician’s Note: The C13 ACERT uses a complex Variable Valve Actuator (VVA) assembly that bolts to the top of the head. When installing this head, it is critical to torque the VVA studs to the exact factory specification. Over-torquing can crack the casting bosses, while under-torquing causes VVA oil pressure loss and engine codes. Also, always inspect the twin-turbo exhaust manifold studs for stretching.
