Part number 4101432 (and 4298626) is the **Injector Camshaft**. The ISX15 engine uses a Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) design. The Injector cam is larger and handles the high-pressure fuel injection loads, while the smaller Valve cam operates the intake and exhaust valves. Please verify which one you need before ordering.
The primary cause of camshaft failure in ISX engines is the failure of the rocker arm rollers. When a roller bearing seizes, it stops rolling and slides against the cam lobe, grinding it flat in a very short time. We strongly recommend inspecting or replacing the rocker arms when installing a new camshaft.
Given the extreme pressures of the ISX unit injection system, our camshafts are manufactured from high-grade steel and undergo deep induction hardening on the lobes. This ensures the surface can withstand the high Hertzian contact stress without pitting or spalling, provided proper lubrication is maintained.
