Heavy-duty TA3103 turbine charger for Komatsu S6D106 and S4D106 engines.
Induction hardened lobes (HRC 52-58) prevent flat-lobe wear on solid lifters under rapid load changes.
OEM: 6118-41-1110 | Cross-reference: YM123900-14580, 123900-14580, 6118411110. Fits Komatsu PC130-6, PC130-7, and PC128UU-2 mini excavators.
Workshop and fleet supply.
The Komatsu S6D106 and 6D106 engine series represent a highly reliable 5.9L inline-6 diesel platform (5,880 cc) engineered under joint licensing agreements to power compact to mid-sized machinery, including PC130-6 and PC130-7 excavators, PC128UU-2 utility crawlers, and WA150-3 wheel loaders. At the heart of this overhead-valve (OHV) pushrod timing system is the premium Komatsu 6D106 camshaft (OEM 6118-41-1110, cross-reference YM123900-14580, 123900-14580, 6118411110), which coordinates critical valve timing events. Under high-frequency, light-to-medium construction duties, common valve train failure modes include camshaft lobe spalling, flat-lobe wear, and pushrod deformation caused by oil film shearing or worn solid lifters. To counter these destructive forces, our dynamically balanced camshaft shafts are cast from premium chilled alloy iron or forged steel, with lobe surfaces induction hardened to an elite HRC 52-58 rating. All bearing journals are CNC ground to precise roundness tolerances to prevent bushing wear during start-ups. Rebuilders must check the camshaft timing gear backlash (standard: 0.030 to 0.120 mm) and inspect the lifter faces during any major Komatsu 6D106 engine parts overhaul. This specialized engineering preserves original combustion lift and duration, guaranteeing long-term operation for global utility and earthmoving fleets.

Symptom: Metallic ticking sounds from the valve cover, progressive engine timing lag, and a rapid drop in engine lift power under load. (camshaft lobe spalling)
Diagnosis: Extreme valve spring pressures combined with degraded or contaminated lubricating oil break down the hydrodynamic film between the cam lobes and solid lifters. This causes direct metal-to-metal friction, resulting in progressive spalling and lobe flattening.
Solution: Replace the compromised shaft with our high-nickel chilled cast iron camshaft (HRC 52-58 lobes) and always install a new set of solid tappets/followers during overhaul.
Symptom: Instant engine misfire, heavy fuel smoke, or valve-to-piston contact during reassembly. (6D102 vs 6D106 camshaft)
Diagnosis: Though both are inline-6 engines, the 6D102 (Cummins-based B-series block) and the 6D106 (Yanmar-based block) use entirely different timing gear keyway angles, journal diameters, and valve lift durations.
Solution: They are not interchangeable. Always confirm the exact part number (e.g., 6735-41-1111 for 6D102 vs. 6118-41-1110 for 6D106) to match your engine block serial number.
Symptom: Loose timing gear connection, rattling sounds from the gear train, or sheared woodruff keys during high-vibration operations. (camshaft timing gear)
Diagnosis: The camshaft timing gear must be securely pressed and keyed onto the shaft flange to prevent timing slip under heavy load torsional vibrations.
Solution: We supply both bare camshafts and complete camshaft-and-driving-gear assemblies (OEM YM123900-14580 matching). If transferring your old gear, always inspect the keyway for cracks and use a hydraulic press to achieve a standard press-fit clearance.
