The 6156-81-8170 is specialized for the SAA6D125E-3K-8M engine in RS400-7 stabilizers to provide immediate low-end torque for soil blending, whereas the 6156-81-8150 is tuned for the SAA6D125E-3 engine in WA480 loaders and PC400 excavators. They are not direct drop-in interchanges without recalibration.
Symptom: High-pitched squealing, immediate oil seal leak, or shaft seizure within the first few minutes of startup.
Diagnosis: Starting a newly installed turbocharger without pre-lubrication causes immediate metal-to-metal friction on the bronze journal bearings.
Solution: To install the 6156-81-8170 turbocharger securely, clean-room practices are vital to prevent foreign particle ingress into the bearings. Replace all oil supply and return gaskets, ensuring the oil feed line has no internal carbon scaling. Fill the oil inlet port with clean engine oil and manually spin the compressor wheel several times to distribute lubricant across the bronze journal bearings.
