Quick Summary: Mitsubishi 4D56 Cylinder Head

Searching for a robust Mitsubishi 4D56 cylinder head replacement? This premium 8-valve assembly (OEM: MD303750 / AMC 908-512) is specifically engineered with high-density cast iron to cure thermal cracking between valve seats. It provides a permanent solution for Mitsubishi L200 (Triton), Pajero, and Delica fleets. Available for global wholesale export.

Restoring 2.5L Diesel Reliability: The MD303750 Solution

The Mitsubishi 4D56 2.5-liter engine is a cornerstone of global light commercial and 4WD heritage, powering the legendary Pajero and L200 pickup through the most demanding terrain. These engines reflect Mitsubishi’s legendary reliability and diesel powertrain expertise. However, in the 8-valve Indirect Injection (IDI) variants, high thermal loads and frequent towing can lead to a critical pain point: fatigue cracking between the valve seats. This stress, combined with cooling system pressure, often causes deck warping, leading to head gasket failure and immediate engine downtime.

Ruich Value addresses these specific 2.5L diesel vulnerabilities with our upgraded MD303750 cylinder head. Manufactured from superior HT250-grade cast iron, our heads offer vastly improved thermal stability to dissipate heat effectively in high-stress zones. By reinforcing the internal bridges between intake and exhaust ports, we’ve engineered a head that resists the micro-cracking common in original castings. With a precision-ground deck flatness tolerance of ≤ 0.05 mm, our cylinder heads ensure a permanent head-to-block seal, providing fleet owners and 4×4 enthusiasts with unyielding job-site reliability.

Technical Q&A: Mitsubishi 4D56 (8V) Cylinder Head

What is the main difference between MD303750 and 1100A135 cylinder heads?

It is vital not to mix these up: the MD303750 (AMC 908-512) is for the older 8-valve Indirect Injection (IDI) 4D56 engine. The 1100A135 is for the newer 16-valve Common-Rail (DI-D) 4D56U engine. They feature completely different valve counts, port designs, and injection systems and are not interchangeable.

Why do Pajero 4D56 heads often crack between the valves?

High thermal stress is the culprit. In the 8V IDI design, the swirl chambers concentrate heat in the head casting. During long hill climbs or heavy towing, the metal bridge between the valves expands and contracts, eventually leading to fatigue fractures. Our high-density iron casting dissipates this heat more efficiently to resist this cycle.

What are the critical torque specs for the 4D56 8V cylinder head?

The 4D56 uses torque-to-yield bolts. The standard sequence involves an initial torque of 30 Nm, followed by 105 Nm, then fully loosening and re-torquing to 30 Nm + 90 degrees + 90 degrees. Because of this stretch-to-clamp design, reusing old bolts will cause gasket failure. We strongly advise installing new bolts with every head replacement.

Does this cylinder head include the pre-combustion swirl chambers?

This MD303750 bare head casting is ready for swirl chamber installation. Depending on your specific model (non-turbo vs turbo), swirl chamber depths vary. We can provide the chambers pre-installed upon request, or you can transfer your existing ones if they are crack-free and within factory height specs.
