Looking for a heavy-duty replacement for your Nissan RF10 engine? This forged steel crankshaft (OEM: 12200-97507) fits UD Trucks Big Thumb V10 models. Precision-engineered to resolve journal wear and fillet cracking in high-load logistics. Ready for B2B wholesale export.
The Nissan Diesel RF10 V10 engine is an industrial powerhouse designed for heavy-haul freight and high-torque commercial transport. In a V10 configuration, the crankshaft is the longest and most stressed component, responsible for synchronizing the combustion forces of ten cylinders. Over hundreds of thousands of kilometers, original shafts often suffer from journal surface scoring and micro-fractures at the fillets due to the massive torsional vibrations inherent in large-displacement V-engines.
Ruich Value’s 12200-97507 crankshaft is engineered specifically to eliminate these common failure points. Utilizing a high-pressure forging process with 42CrMo alloy steel, our crankshaft offers far superior fatigue resistance compared to standard cast iron versions. By applying advanced induction hardening to the journals and precision-polishing the radius of every fillet, we ensure a component that can withstand the relentless torque of the RF8/RF10 series, restoring your UD fleet’s reliability and extending the engine’s service life.

The earliest sign is a drop in oil pressure when the engine is hot, often accompanied by a low-frequency knocking sound under acceleration. This indicates excessive clearance in the main or rod journals (110mm / 85mm). If ignored, the crankshaft will begin to vibrate excessively, leading to hairline cracks at the journal radius and eventual catastrophic breakage.
You can grind the journals to “undersize” (0.25mm or 0.50mm), but we do not recommend this for heavy-duty V10 engines. Grinding removes the induction-hardened layer. Unless the crankshaft is professionally re-hardened and nitrided, the soft underlying metal will wear out the new bearing shells very quickly. Replacing it with a new Ruich Value forged shaft is the only long-term solution.
The secret is the Harmonic Balancer (Damper). In a V10 engine, the crankshaft is extremely long and subject to massive torsional twists. If the harmonic balancer’s rubber or viscous fluid has failed, it will not absorb these twists, and the new crankshaft will eventually snap. Always replace the damper when installing a new 12200-97507 crankshaft.
The RF10 requires a strict multi-stage torque-plus-angle sequence. You must tighten the main cap bolts in the specified order from the center outwards. Failure to follow the factory manual for these V10 main caps will result in an uneven load on the new journals, causing them to score and fail within the first 1,000 km.
In engine engineering, the fillet (the radius at the edge of the journal) is the most common place for a crankshaft to fail. Even the tiniest scratch from a lathe tool can act as a “stress raiser” where a crack starts. We micro-polish every fillet on the 12200-97507 to ensure a perfectly smooth transition, which drastically increases the crankshaft’s fatigue life.
