Looking for a durable Toyota 2RZ camshaft replacement? The 2.0L 1RZ and 2.4L 2RZ engines are the backbone of Southeast Asia Toyota parts distribution, powering countless commercial delivery vans and light trucks. While the short block is incredibly robust, high-mileage stop-and-go driving places immense friction on the valvetrain. Our replacement commercial van camshaft is engineered specifically for these demanding conditions, ensuring fleet managers experience zero downtime from premature shaft failure.
In fleet environments, extended oil change intervals frequently result in 2RZ camshaft lobe wear and 1RZ engine ticking noise. When the factory induction hardening breaks down, the lobe height drops below the absolute minimum limit, leading to severe rough idle and power loss. Our Hiace RZH100 camshaft is manufactured from premium chilled cast iron, delivering exceptional surface hardness (HRC 50-55) to withstand poor lubrication scenarios. Combined with precision-ground journals (Ra 0.2 finish), this SOHC 8V camshaft maintains the critical hydrodynamic oil film necessary for long-term reliability.

This Hilux RZN149 camshaft is a direct bolt-in replacement for both 2.0L (1RZ) and 2.4L (2RZ/2RZ-FE) SOHC engines across the following models:
| Make | Machine Model | Year Range | Engine | Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toyota | Hiace (RZH100 / 102 / 112) | 1989–2004 | 1RZ (2.0L) | Commercial Van |
| Toyota | Hilux (RZN149 / 154 / 169) | 1997–2004 | 2RZ / 2RZ-FE (2.4L) | Light Pickup |
| Toyota | Tacoma (USA Market) | 1995–2004 | 2RZ-FE (2.4L) | Pickup Truck |
Yes, OEM 13501-75010 and cross-reference 13501-75900 are directly interchangeable. While the 1RZ is a 2.0L engine and the 2RZ is a 2.4L engine (achieved via a larger 95mm bore vs the 1RZ’s 86mm bore), they share the exact same SOHC 8V aluminum cylinder head architecture. This single camshaft effectively services both displacements for direct bolt-in installation.
A distinct ticking noise from the top end is usually the first indicator of lobe wipe. When subjected to contaminated oil or extended idling, the induction-hardened surface breaks down. The factory standard cam lobe height must measure between 47.84 and 47.94 mm. If your micrometer reading falls below this allowable standard, the valvetrain will lose proper lift, creating excess clearance and a noticeable ticking sound during acceleration.
Torque specifications vary critically depending on the cap position. According to the factory service manual, the No.1 and No.2 camshaft bearing caps must be torqued to 29.5 Nm (22 ft·lbf) to properly anchor the shaft against timing chain tension. The remaining bearing caps should be torqued to only 9 Nm (80 inch·lbf). After installation, always check your cold valve clearances (Intake: 0.15-0.25 mm, Exhaust: 0.25-0.35 mm).
