Because the 11101-75200 is an aluminum alloy head, excessive heat causes the deck surface to warp beyond tolerance, preventing a proper seal with the multi-layer steel (MLS) gasket. A secondary contributing factor on pre-2008 models is the plastic coolant bypass pipe (No.1 water bypass pipe), which can crack and cause rapid coolant loss.
