Q1: What is the difference between a “Wide Journal” and “Narrow Journal” 3306 crank?

This is a critical distinction. Early 3306 engines used narrow rod bearings, while later 3306 and 3406 engines moved to wider journals for increased load capacity. The crankshafts are NOT interchangeable. You must check your casting number or serial number prefix.

Q2: Can I use a 3406E crankshaft in a C15 engine?

In many cases, yes. The C15 is an evolution of the 3406E platform, and the core crankshaft geometry (stroke and journal size) is often identical. However, the front snout configuration for the vibration damper and gear drive can vary. Always confirm the Part Number.

Q3: Do you offer undersize crankshafts?

Our standard inventory consists of Standard (STD) size crankshafts. However, we can supply .010″ or .020″ undersize kits upon request if you are matching them to specific bearings. Our induction hardening depth supports regrinding.
